I hope you are having a wonderful holiday season with family and friends. As we wrap up 2013 and start to look forward to 2014, now is the time we should pause to reflect. Did we accomplish what we set out to do at the beginning of this year? And the next question is what are we resolving to do for the New Year? New Year’s resolutions are a tradition. And if you are like most people, among your list of goals you will write down “eating better” and “exercising more” as goals. Unfortunately – if you are like most people – you will probably have trouble sticking to these goals. In fact, by the second week of January, those New Year’s resolutions are typically given up on and forgotten.

Why do so many people give up on these goals? Everyone knows the importance of good health, and most people know they need to eat better and exercise more. But when we slip up – when we fail – we get frustrated and discouraged. I know because I’ve been there. I tell myself I will do better next time. I vow to get my act together and to things the way I am supposed to…, but then I fall again. After a few times of that, we start thinking that we can’t do it, so why bother even trying. We give up and fall back into our old habits because they are more comfortable than working hard to change.

So what can you do to break that cycle? I’m glad you asked. Sometimes all you need is someone to encourage you, motivate you and hold you accountable. You need a coach! A health and wellness coach can give you tips and advice, but the most important thing a coach provides a way to reach your goals. You’ve probably heard the definition of insanity: doing the same thing over and over, but expecting different results. Well I can help you break that cycle of insanity. Together we can formulate a plan to reach your goals and get the results you want! Go to the contact page and let’s get started.
